REYNOLDS -- A recent video-taping of sewer mains showed two areas where surface water apparently is infiltrating the sytem, the village board learned this week.
After viewing the tapes, the board referred the matter to the sewer committee with the goal of making the repairs before winter.
In other business, the board:
-- Approved a $300 yearly service contract with Mississippi Valley Pump, Bettendorf, for maintenance of the control panel at the new lift station.
-- Approved hiring a temporary worker, at $7 per hour, to help Mayor Marvin Remrey with the 2000 census.
-- Approved seeking estimates to switch the municipal building from an electrical to a gas heating system.
-- Approved replacing worn and missing street signs.
-- Directed village attorney Bob Swanson to continue negotiations with Triax Cable. Triax wants a 15-year contract, while the village wants a short contract.
-- Asked Mr. Swanson to update zoning designations.
