Bill Ziemer, 67, of Orion, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301 4th St., Orion. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville. Memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research.
Bill was born on Nov. 4, 1945, in Moline, the son of Harold and Doris Eckhart Ziemer. He married Judith A. Wade on Dec. 23, 1968, in Wayne, Neb.
Bill worked at John Deere Harvester, Moline, for 31 years, retiring in 1996. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bill enjoyed sports and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved motorcycles and classic cars. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Ziemer, Orion; children, Stephanie (Russ) Lance, Minier, Ill., Jill (Carl) Drake, Westfield, Ind., and Mary (Tom) Hisey, St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Forsberg, Sherrard, Loretta DeCap, East Moline, and Bonnie Sue (Bill) Driver, Morrison; and sister-in-law, Joyce (Sandy) Crane, Orion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dave Ziemer.
