Funeral services for Donald R. Dussliere, 87, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be held at 3 p.m.

Mr. Dussliere died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Don was born Nov. 5, 1925, in Moline, the son of Alois and Martha Callewaert Dussliere. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He married Deloris Minor Sept. 1, 1945, in East Moline. She died June 2, 2012.

He had worked with his family at their business, Dusslieres Market. He had many jobs over the years, and retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, in 1987.

He had been a member of the VFW, American Legion, AMVETS and past president of the Lions Club. He had been sexton of Bowlesburg Cemetery, Silvis, chairman of the 9th Street Common Memorial, East Moline, and had been on the History Subcommittee of the East Moline: A Centennial History 1903-2003.

Survivors include his daughter, Dee Ann (Dan) Schueneman, East Moline; son, David Dussliere, East Moline; grandchildren, Ericca (David) Schmitt, Bedford, N.H., and Ryan (Mindy) Olson, Port Byron; great-grandchildren, Evan, Kamryn and Hudson Schmitt, Katelyn and Kai Olson; brothers, Albert (Lorene) Dussliere, East Moline; Lawrence (Hattie) Dussliere, East Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Alois Dussliere Jr.
