Jesus Raya, 51, of Moline, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Clarissa Cook Hospice, Bettendorf.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at St. Mary's Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St. A, Moline, with a rosary recited at 4 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials can be made to his family.
Jesus was born July 16, 1961, in Puerta Del Monte, Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Agustin and Eulalia Paredes Raya. He married Rosalba Cruz on Feb. 16, 1985, in Moline.
Jesus was a selfless, generous and creative man that loved to laugh and tell jokes. He was a handyman and enjoyed making crafts and giving them away, especially rosaries. He loved music, dancing, singing and cars.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalba; daughter, Lineth (Jorge) Payan, Moline; sons, Jaime Raya, Moline, and Alex Raya; grandchildren, Aaliyah and Isaiah; and sisters, Yolanda Puente, Mexico, Elena Romero, Moline, Eulalia Rosas, Texas, and Monica Guerrero, Moline.
