Marjorie L. DeMay, 88, of Atkinson, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Atkinson. The Rev. R. Anthony Lee will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Atkinson. Visitation for Marjorie will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Atkinson Chapel of Vandemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, where a prayer service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Memorials may be left to Hillcrest Home.

Marjorie was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Atkinson, the daughter of Alphonese "Ben" and Emma Minnaert Dupre. She was united in marriage to Lawrence "Bus" DeMay July 26, 1944, in Atkinson. He preceded her in 1984.

Marjorie was a homemaker in her own home and was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Atkinson, and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She belonged to the Geneseo Women of the Moose and enjoyed playing bingo, her card parties, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Cheryl (Bob) Webb, Canton, Ill., Norma Disterhoft, Atkinson, Janice Sullivan, Olathe, Kan., Connie DeMay, Geneseo; seven grandchildren, Angela, Bruce, Beverley, Stacy, Jonathan, Amanda and Dennis; and eight great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Kathy Downard; and a sister, Catherine DeSplinter.
