Ryan L. Adkins, 52, of Bourbonnais, Ill., formerly of Atkinson, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.
Visitation and video tribute will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13 at Freitag-Reeves & Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, Wilmington, Ill. Funeral services will follow on Monday, Jan. 14, at 10:30 a.m. in Atkinson Congregational Church, 201 West 2nd St., Atkinson. The Rev. Mike McBride will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Annawan.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Ryan's memory to the Diabetes Association.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1960, in Geneseo, a son of Larry and Arlene Morton-Adkins, Atkinson. He was raised and educated in Atkinson and graduated from Atkinson High School.
Ryan was employed with Target of Bradley, where he worked as a store facility technician. It was through Target that he was active in volunteering throughout the community. Ryan enjoyed fishing and drawing; loved his Jeep and had many great times four-wheeling. He will be remembered for his winter video gaming and could regularly be found watching horror films.
Survivors include his parents; fiancee, Tina Howard, Wilmington, Ill.; daughter, Jennifer Binstock, North Dakota; grandson, Dillon; brothers, Ron (Theresa) Hansen, of Princeton and Wade Adkins, of Davenport, and two nephews: Dan and Nick Hansen. Ryan was preceded in death by a sister, Ramona in infancy.
