CHICAGO (AP) -- Pat Dunne kicked a 26-yard field goal with 42 seconds left Saturday to lift Lake Forest to a 16-14 victory over Chicago in the season opener for both teams.
Two Chicago fumbles enabled Lake Forest to come back from a 14-7 deficit in the final 2:42. Tom Dranger passed 32 yards to John Lischer for a score after the Foresters recovered fumble at the Maroon 33.
Dunne's winning kick was set up by another fumble recovery at midfield.
Chicago scored both of their TDs on interception returns, Blake Ward on a 27-yarder and Michael Turner for 56 yards.
