Snap, Crackle, Pop-Its

1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine
1 egg, beaten
1 pound (2-1/2 cups) cut-up dates
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups Rice Krispies
1/2 cup flaked coconut


Cook together the margarine, egg, dates and sugar. Stirring constantly, cook for 6 minutes, at a soft rolling boil. Add the Rice Krispies. Form the mixture into balls and roll in coconut. Makes 50 balls. These may be wrapped in plastic wrap.
