Beer Bread

Comment on this recipe

This was a recipe I had used a lot 20 years ago. Now I'm using it again. I had forgotten how simple and good it was.

Ingredients

3 cups self-rising flour
1 can (12 ounces) any beer, warm or cold
3 tablespoons sugar
Butter

Instructions

Mix flour, beer and sugar together by hand. Pour mixture into a well greased 9-inch bread pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. The loaf should be golden brown on top. Let cool on wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan. Rub butter over top when removed from oven. Slice only when cool.
