Barley Soup

Ingredients

1 cup quick cooking barley
1 large onion
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup carrots, sliced
1 ham bone or smoked butt
1 can (8 ounces) sweet peas

Instructions

Put all ingredients except peas in a soup kettle and cover with water. Bring to boil. Turn down flame and simmer for about one hour or until everything is tender. Add sweet peas and cook a few minutes longer. Serve.
