Scalloped Mushrooms

1-1/2 pounds fresh mushrooms, thickly sliced
3 stacks of crushed Ritz crackers (8 ounces)
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 pound of butter

Put in buttered 9x13-inch dish in this order: 3/4 of the mushrooms, 1/2 of crackers, remaining mushrooms and remaining crackers. Pour cream over top and let soak in. Top with melted butter, salt and pepper. Set aside 1 hour. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
