Polish Kluski Noodles

1 medium sweet or yellow onion, sliced into thin strips
1 package kluski noodles
4 tablespoons butter
1 can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
1 tablespoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile saute onion in 1 to 2 tablespoons butter. Combine cooked noodles, onion and sauerkraut with remaining butter and sugar. Add more or less sugar to taste. Salt and pepper to taste. Great with ham or Polish sausage.
