German Puffs

Ingredients

2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup mashed potatoes
Oil or fat for frying
Cinnamon-sugar or powdered sugar

Instructions

Beat eggs into sour cream and stir in sugar. Sift dry ingredients and mix together with potatoes. Heat oil in deep skillet. Drop by teaspoons into hot oil (370 degrees). Fry balls until done, about 1 to 1-1/2 minutes on each side. Drain on paper towels and roll in sugar of your choice. Makes about 3 dozen.
