Banana Bread

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
2 eggs
3 tablespoons sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup mashed bananas
1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Add sour cream and vanilla. Stir in flour and baking soda mixture. Add mashed bananas and nuts. Bake in 9x5-inch greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from pan. Finish cooling on wire rack.

1989 — 25 years ago: The final tallies are not yet in for the summer 1989 Quad-Cities tourism season, but officials are expecting the number of visitors to the area to be at least as good as, if not better than, 1988.
