Shortbread Cookies

I received this "melt in your mouth" cookie recipe from a friend in Canada.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pecans, optional

Instructions

Beat butter and sugar until very fluffy. Add flour and mix well. Add vanilla and stir. Add pecans if desired. Put teaspoons of dough on ungreased pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 25 minutes or until slightly brown around the edges. Makes 36 small cookies.
