Mom's Fruit Cobbler

Ingredients

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
1/2 stick margarine
1 pint peaches or berries

Instructions

Melt margarine in a 9-inch square baking dish. Mix all other ingredients together except fruit. Pour batter in dish. Add berries or fresh peaches on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Dough will rise and cover fruit and thicken the fruit as it does. Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
