Jello Applesauce Salad

1/2 cup red hot cinnamon candies
2 cups hot water
2 packages (3 ounces each) raspberry or other red gelatin
4 cups applesauce

Simmer candies in hot water until dissolved. Add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Add applesauce. May add 1/2 cup celery or nuts. Put in one quart mold and refrigerate until set.
