English Muffin Bread

1 cup milk
1/4 cup water
3 cups unsifted flour, divided
1 package dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
Cornmeal

Heat milk and water until very warm. Put 1-1/2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and baking soda in food processor. Blend. Add milk and water and beat. Add remaining flour and mix until stiff. Place in a greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover with kitchen towel. Set to rise 45-60 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from pan to cool. Makes 1 loaf.
