Lemon-Lime Dessert

Ingredients

1 stack Ritz crackers, rolled into crumbs
1 cup sugar
7 tablespoons butter, melted
1 quart lime sherbert
2 eggs, beaten
2 quarts vanilla ice cream
2 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

Mix crumbs, sugar and butter. Press into 13x9-inch pan. Freeze. Mix ice cream and sherbert with mixer. Pour over crust. Freeze until firm. Melt butter; add sugar, lemon and eggs. Beat eggs very well or they may curdle. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until thick. Cool. Pour sauce over ice cream. Freeze until ready to serve.
