Odell Carter's Best Pecan Pie

2 eggs, room temperature
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup pecan pieces
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 unbaked pie shell

Separate the yolks from the egg whites. Beat yolks until light and thick. Add sugar, cinnamon and cloves. Mix until combined. Add pecans and butter. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into mixture, adding vinegar as you fold. Pour into pie shell. Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 25 minutes.
