Oatmeal Coffee Cake

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup walnuts
1/3 cup coconut
1/2 cup oatmeal
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk

Instructions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, beating well. Stir in vanilla, dates, walnuts, coconuts and oatmeal. Sift dry ingredients together and add to first mixture alternately with milk. Mix well. Bake in greased loaf pan for 50-60 minutes in 350 degree oven.
