Toffee Cookies

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 stick margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
6 plain milk chocolate candy bars
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream butter, margarine and brown sugar. Add egg yolk, vanilla and flour. Beat until smooth. Spread out thinly on ungreased 12x18-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. While still hot, break chocolate bars on top and spread around. Sprinkle with nuts. Cut into squares.
