Holly's Heavenly Onions

3 large onions, sliced thin
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
3 stalks celery, sliced
1/2 pound Swiss cheese
French bread, sliced and buttered
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can (15 ounces) cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Saute onions, mushrooms and celery. Place in buttered 9x13-inch casserole. Add layer of cheese; add layer of sliced bread, buttered on both sides. Mix salt and pepper with soup, milk and soy sauce. Pour over onions, cheese and bread. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
