1 German chocolate cake mix, mixed according to directions
1 bag (14 ounces) caramels
5 ounces evaporated milk
2 tablespoons butter
1 bag (12 ounces) milk chocolate chips
Mix cake mix according to package directions. Pour half of the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes. While the cake is baking, melt the caramels with evaporated milk and butter. Remove cake from oven and pour chocolate chips on top, saving a few. Cover with the melted caramel mix. Pour remaining cake batter on top. Sprinkle with remaning chocolate chips. Bake for 35 minutes longer.
