Unsurpassable Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup butter
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package (12 ounces) chocolate chips
1 cup confectioners' sugar

With mixer, cream butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Chill until firm. Roll in balls and coat with confectioners' sugar. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheet before putting on rack. Store in air tight container.
