Taffy Apple Salad

1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained, reserve juice
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 cup salted peanuts, crushed
4 cups chopped Granny Smith apples, don't peel
1 carton (8 ounces) Cool Whip

Mix together pineapple juice, sugar, flour, egg and cider vinegar. Cook over medium heat until thick, about 1 to 2 minutes. Cool.
When mixture is cool, add Cool Whip. In seperate bowl, mix apples, peanuts and pineapple. Add Cool Whip sauce mixture to apple mixture. Chill and serve.
