Pumpkin Pie Cake

6 eggs
3 cups pumpkin
1-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon ginger
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick melted butter
Nuts (optional)

In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add pumpkin, sugar, ginger, salt, cinnamon and evaporated milk. Combine and pour into greased 9x13-inch pan.
In a separate bowl, combine cake mix and melted butter. Sprinkle on top of the pumpkin mixture. Sprinkle nuts on top if desired. Bake at 350 degrees 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm with Cool Whip.
