Dad's Yummy Fudge

Ingredients

4 cups sugar
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
1 cup (2 sticks) margarine
12 ounces chocolate chips (semisweet morsels)
14 ounces marshmallow cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups walnuts, broken

Instructions

Butter bottom and sides of heavy cooking pan. Combine sugar, milk and margarine. Cook over medium to high heat for about 10-15 minutes, to 240 degrees. Regulate to keep at full boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add chocolate chips, stir until melted. Add marshmallow cream and mix. Add vanilla and mix; add walnuts and mix and mix. Pour into an 8x13-inch buttered dish. Cool and cut.

1989 -- 25 years ago: The Immediate Care Center emergency medical office at South Park Mall is moving back to United Medical Center on Sept. 1. After nearly six years in operation at the mall, Care Center employees are upset by UMC's decision. The center is used by 700 to 800 people each month.
