Never Fail Microwave Fudge

1 pound powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup nuts (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Sift powdered sugar and cocoa. Place in an 8x8-inch glass dish. Pour milk on top, then cut up the butter and place in milk. Do not stir.
Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly. Add vanilla and stir with a for to remove lumps. Add nuts, if using. Allow fudge to cool completely, then cut into 1-inch squares. Keep covered.
