Homemade Granola

You may also add unsweetened coconut, dried fruit, wheat germ, allspice, any type of nuts. This recipe is flexible...dry ingredient measurements are approximate.

Ingredients

3/4 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups old fashioned oats
3/4 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup flax seed
3/4 cup slivered almonds
1/3 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1-2 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions

Mix maple syrup, oil and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and pour liquids over top. Spread mixture on two cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees, 30-40 minutes until golden. Stir every 10 minutes with a pancake turner. Rotate cookie sheets for even browning.
