Sweet Dill Pickles

Note: Any brand of pickles may be used. My husband generally doesn't like sweet pickles, but he really likes these with a hint of dill.

1/2 gallon dill pickle spears
2 cups sugar

Drain the vinegar off the pickles into a saucepan, add the sugar and heat until dissolved. Slice the pickles into chunks and return to the jar. Pour the hot, sweet vinegar over the pickles put the led back on the jar, place in a cool place and let set for at least 2 weeks.
