Chocolate Nutbutter Cookies

Ingredients

1-1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup milk
1 package (12 ounces) peanut butter chips

Instructions

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine sugar, shortening and peanut butter; beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In medium bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to sugar mixture alternately with milk. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped in flour. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until bottoms are light brown. Remove from cookie sheets. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
