Comment on this recipe

This is a nice little cookie to serve your family at Christmas and tastes wonderful.

Ingredients

1/2 pound or 2 sticks butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
6 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder

Icing:
3 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
5 to 6 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time and then the vanilla extract. Combine flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks and cool completely. Meanwhile, prepare icing. Combine the confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla in a smaller bowl. Stir until icing is smooth. Dip each cool cookie into icing, allowing excess icing to drip off. Place on waxed paper. Decorate with flaked coconut and let stand until icing is set. Makes 6 to 7 dozen.
