Fried Cheerios

Ingredients

1/2 to 3/4 cup butter or margarine
4 cups Cheerios or other toasted oat cereal
Salt to taste

Instructions

Option one: Melt butter or margarine in large frying pan over medium to medium-low heat. Add cereal and toast gently until cereal is brown and dry. Salt to taste and spread on paper towel until cooled. Option two: Melt butter or margarine in a large bowl in microwave. Pour melted butter or margarine over cereal. Place mixture in large frying pan and toast until cereal is brown and dry. Salt to taste and spread on paper towels until cooled. Store in air-tight container. Variations: You can use seasoned salt, garlic salt, hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce to flavor. This toasted snack tastes like popcorn.
