Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
5 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup cornstarch

Instructions

Put the sugar, water, butter, salt and cinnamon on stove and bring to a boil. Add apples and cook 2 minutes. Add water and cornstarch. Cook until thickening is clear. Put in 1-quart canning jar and seal with lid. Only makes 1 quart at a time.
