Easy Meatloaf

Ingredients

1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 slice bread, torn in small pieces
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/4 cup ketchup
1-1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup uncooked quick-cooking oats
1 pound ground beef chuck

Instructions

Beat the egg. Stir in milk, bread pieces, chopped onion, ketchup, brown sugar, salt, pepper and oats. Add the ground beef chuck and blend well.

Put mixture in greased 9-1/4x5-1/4x2-3/4-inch loaf pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.

Richard Evans, John Harris, George Crampton and William Getz, all of Moline, Charles Roberts, Rock Island, and Charles Johnson, of Hampton.
1989 -- 25 years ago: Indian summer is quickly disappearing as temperatures slide into the 40s and 50s this week. Last week, highs were in the 80s.
