Kewanee 54, Prophetstown 52: Trailing Prophetstown 37-33 entering the fourth quarter at Brockman Gymnasium, the Kewanee Boilermakers (17-3) needed a home-court rally to stay perfect and atop the Three Rivers Conference standings at 10-0. Senior guard Dayton Ince scored seven points down the stretch, including a key three-point play, as the Boilers went on a 7-0 run that sparked the victory.

Ince posted a game-high 19 points, with freshman teammate Donovan Oliver going for 18 points and 11 rebounds and Dalton Nuding adding 13 points. The Prophets' Carter Ames led all scorers with 24 points, 17 of which came in the first half to help stake Prophetstown (11-11, 5-5 TRAC-9) to a 29-26 halftime edge.

Geneseo 47, Streator 25: Up just 12-7 after the first quarter at Streator's Pops Dale Gymnasium, the Geneseo Lady Leafs shut out the hosts in the second period to take a 30-7 halftime lead and roll from there to the Northern Illinois Big 12 West victory, which evens their league mark at 4-4. Balanced scoring helped carry the day for the Leafs (12-12 overall), with Molly DeBrock's eight points and Emily Ford's seven points leading the way.

Rockridge 57, Mercer County 25: The Rockridge Rockets (11-13) blitzed Mercer County (8-19) in nonconference action at Edgington. Michaela Stoneking's 14 points led all scorers, with Rocket teammate Beth Meier adding 10 and Destiny Grawe just missing a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds. Kimi Nelson's nine points and 13 boards paced the Golden Eagles.

Orion 49, Macomb 37: The Orion Chargers (18-7) stayed red-hot, rolling past Macomb at home for their eighth straight victory and moving to 5-3 in the West Central North. Led by Cassidy Clark (14 points) and Katie Garrity (10 points), Orion gave itself some breathing room by outscoring the Bombers 15-8 in the second quarter to take a 31-21 halftime lead.

Annawan 68, Henry-Senachwine 27: One night after being held in check, Annawan junior standout Celina VanHyfte was back to her usual ways, pouring in a game-high 28 points to outscore host Henry-Senachwine by herself as the Bravettes (22-2) downed the Lady Mallards. Megan Foes chipped in 11 points for Annawan, which went up 27-4 after the first quarter.

Fulton 38, Amboy 33: The visiting Fulton Steamers picked up their 10th win of the season as they held off Three Rivers Conference rival Amboy down the stretch. Katherine Wayne and Morgan Wierema each tallied 12 points for Fulton (10-16, 5-6 TRAC-9) to share game-high scoring honors. Amboy (12-10, 5-7) led 11-4 after the first period, but the Steamers rallied to go up 16-13 at the half and took a 10-point lead into the final quarter.

Morrison 46, Bureau Valley 36: Bureau Valley hung close to Morrison for the majority of the Three Rivers Conference matchup, but the Fillies (4-19, 2-11) used a 17-8 fourth-quarter run to pull away from the Storm (1-24, 0-12). Lakin Goodman poured in a game-high 18 points, followed closely by teammate Chelsea Eads with 17 for the winners. BV, which trailed only 29-28 entering the final period, was led by Nicole Bornsheuer's 15 points.

Sherrard 65, Rockridge 12: One night after securing a share of the West Central Conference title, the Sherrard Tigers (14-6) officially locked up their third undefeated WCC crown in as many seasons — and their fourth conference championship overall — by handling the Rockridge Rockets at Sherrard's Harry Hunt Gymnasium.

Bound for the Three Rivers Conference next year, the Tigers concluded their West Central stint with 27 straight victories. Counting its last year in the defunct Olympic Conference, Sherrard has reeled off 32 straight conference wins.

Starting at 138 pounds, the Tigers grabbed a quick 11-0 lead on Sam Ryner's pin at 138 and Nathan Miller's technical fall at 145, but the Rockets rallied for a 12-11 lead after consecutive pins by Dylan Peterson (152) and Dalton Ray (160). After that, it was all Sherrard, which scored pins in all but one of its subsequent bouts. Included were Hunter Spenger's 28-second pin at 106, and Alex Morley's 35-second stick at 132 pounds.

Fulton falls twice: Giving up forfeits at seven weight classes hurt the Fulton Steamers' cause, first during a 45-18 setback to Oregon and especially against Ashton-Franklin Center as the Steamers dropped a 30-27 heartbreaker as pins by the Raiders' Anthony Hahn (113) and John Hilliker (132) also made a difference. Alex Rowland scored a pair of forfeit wins for Fulton at 106 pounds.

United Township 2547, Rock Island 2458: United Township's Kayla Crawford topped the field with a three-game series of 619, and her efforts helped the Panthers to top Western Big 6 rival Rock Island in a make-up match at the Milan Lanes. Katie James added a 505 to back up Crawford as UT withstood a 570 by the Lady Rocks' Aubree Hooks and a 548 from teammate Jordan Sholl.

Black Hawk 77, BHC East 56: Down four at halftime, the Black Hawk Braves took the halftime talk to heart and turned around the Arrowhead Conference clash at the Kewanee Armory.

"We finally went inside where we needed to go instead of casting up outside shots," said BHC coach Darren Bizarri, whose club was 2-for-13 on 3-point shots in the first half. "That was the difference."

Looking to work the paint, the Braves (9-11, 2-2 Arrowhead) went inside to Duol Mayot and Cody Cooley, who scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, in the final 20 minutes. Mayot finished with a game-high 25 points and Cooley added 17 against East, which had just seven players suited up.

QC college women

BHC East 57, Black Hawk 55: Jamie Johnson scored 12 points and hauled down 14 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Braves dropped the Arrowhead Conference contest in Kewanee. Ella Teel added 10 points for BHC and Sanela Causevic eight.
